SPECT Processing

Process the data using a filtered back-projection algorithm, and reconstruct all three planes (transverse, coronal and sagittal). Use a Butterworth or low pass filter with the order set between 6 to 10, and a cutoff frequency of 0.26 to 0.45 when the 128 x 128 matrix is used. Use a higher cutoff (0.4 to 0.6) if a 64 X 64 matrix is used (on some systems, cutoff could be as low as 0.15).

Volume-rendered 3-D or reprojected images are also very useful in interpretation.

Attenuation correction of the upper abdominal SPECT (liver) may be helpful.
